Barcelona are reported to have joined the race to sign Chesea star Cesar Azpilicueta as rumours over his future start to hot up.
The Spain international has already been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United as former boss Jose Mourinho wants him on board, but they are not the only interested party.
Barca are on the look out for a replacement for Dani Alves, who is set to join Juventus, and Azpilicueta is on their wanted list along with Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes a number of clubs are keen to take Azpilicueta back to Spain, including Atletico Madrid, and a battle looks to be on the cards.
Balague told Sky Sports: “Some of the top clubs in Europe are after Azpilicueta’s signature, not least because of his versatility in being able to play in both full-back positions with equal confidence.”
Azpilicueta has insisted he is happy at Chelsea and is not thinking about leaving, but the chance to return to Spain with a top club like Barca or Atletico is sure to appeal.
