Liverpool hope to finally get rid of Mario Balotelli on transfer deadline day, while Luis Alberto is also expected to depart.
Balotelli’s future at Anfield has looked bleak for the past 12 months and the Italian was not involved in any of the Reds’ pre-season games this summer.
The striker, who was initially targeted by several clubs back in his home country, has held talks with French side Nice in the past 24 hours and the Reds hope he will agree terms with them before the transfer deadline passes at 11pm on Wednesday.
Midfielder Alberto, meanwhile, is set to complete a £6million move to Lazio after he impressed on a season-long loan at Deportivo La Coruna in 2015-16.
The Spaniard made just 12 first-team appearances for Liverpool following his move from Sevilla in 2013 and is also not part of boss Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans.
The Reds are not expected to make any major signings on deadline day but there could be other exits on loan, with centre-back Mamadou Sakho advised he should move on temporarily to get game time. Stoke and Sunderland are interested in the France international but Sakho would reportedly prefer to stay on Merseyside.
Andre Wisdom is also tipped to leave on loan, with Austrian side RB Salzburg hoping to tie up a deal for the 23-year-old on Wednesday.
