The 22-year-old was involved in a well-publicised transfer saga last summer when Tottenham had three bids of up to £25million rejected by the Baggies right up to the deadline.

It resulted in Berahino threatening to go on strike and not play for Albion while chairman Jeremy Peace is at the helm.

The England international quickly relented has subsequently worked his way back into boss Tony Pulis’ plans but only after spending the majority of the first half of the season as a regular on the substitutes’ bench.

Berahino also held talks with Peace and accepted the club’s decision to keep him during the January transfer window, while he has been more involved in the first-team in recent weeks.

But reports are claiming the club will reward Berahino for his change in attitude and give him their blessing to leave at the end of this campaign with Spurs thought to be waiting in the wings to sign him for up to £10million less than they were willing to pay last year.
