Venezuela striker, Rondon, only returned from international duty in South America on Thursday and Baggies boss Tony Pulis will assess him for fatigue, while midfielder Fletcher suffered a dead leg when he was away with Scotland and he too will be monitored.

If Rondon is not fit, Pulis must decide whether to give Hal Robson-Kanu his first start or play Saido Berahino against the club who made several attempts to buy him in successive transfer windows.

Spurs arrive boasting the only unbeaten record in the Premier League and they could even go top of the table with a win against Albion.

“They did fantastically well last year and they will be disappointed they didn’t get over the line,” said Pulis at his pre-match press conference. “But it will make them more determined this year.

“They’ve got a good side, a young side, and they’ll go close again I’m absolutely convinced. It’s going to be tough tomorrow.

“They’ve got everything you want, they’ve got energy, they’ve got ability, and they’ve got that team ethic that stands out.”

Pulis, who heaped praise on the opposition coach Mauricio Pochettino, added: “I really expect them to see it through to the end of the season. I’m not saying they’re going to win it, that won’t be determined until further down the line, but they’re certainly racing a good horse.”
