Tony Pulis has admitted West Brom’s 1-0 home defeat against Norwich on Saturday was “disappointing” given their recent form.
The Baggies boss had seen his side pick up 10 points from 12 available in recent weeks, which included wins against Crystal Palace, Everton and Manchester United not to mention an impressive 2-2 draw at league leaders Leicester.
However the struggling Canaries snatched their first win in 12 games, with Robbie Brady scoring the only goal of the game early in the second half to lift Alex Neil’s men out of the relegation zone above north-east rivals Newcastle and Sunderland.
It left Pulis scratching his head because he felt his players had looked good in training and were revitalised, given that their league clash with Arsenal was postponed the previous weekend due to their FA Cup involvement.
He said: “They were really bright and looked really sharp. It just shows Monday to Friday means nothing, Saturday is when it counts.
“WeÂ’ve played so well over the last month or so and to put in a performance like that is disappointing.
“We’ve just had two weeks off, so weÂ’ve got another two weeks off. Maybe they need a break, I don’t know.”
