Chelsea are ready to battle for the signature Atletico Madrid’s £80m-rated striker Antoine Griezmann, reports have claimed.
The Spanish side managed to fight off interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal in the summer window, but that will not be the end of the matter, and the Blues are still keen to do a deal.
The 25-year-old is one of the hottest properties in world football following his performances for France at Euro 2016, where he fired home six goals, while he continues to shine for Atleti in La Liga.
Griezmann has always insisted he will remain at Atletico while Diego Simeone is in charge, but there are suggestions that the Argentina coach could consider his own future at the end of the season.
That could open the door for interested clubs to swoop for Griezmann, who is under contract until 2021 and would cost at least £80million.
Chelsea will face strong competition though as former boss Jose Mourinho is very keen to take the player to Old Trafford, while Arsenal are also interested.
The Blues could also try and win the day by including Diego Costa as part of the deal, as Atletico are keen to take him back.
