New Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has been linked with an ambitious move for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
The Sweden international has been tracked by Chelsea and Manchester United but has so far stayed put at the Portuguese club, where he arrived in 2012.
However, his future is still the subject of much speculation with Napoli and Inter Milan reportedly leading the chase to sign him.
Tutto Napoli claim the Serie A pair are the frontrunners for the 22-year-old’s signature, but they have also suggested that Championship club Villa are plotting an ambitious move.
Completing a deal for Lindelof – under contract at Benfica until 2020 – would be considered a major coup for Bruce, with Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan also tracking his progress.
