Aston Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo opens up on disappointing Sheffield Wednesday loss

Fernando Forestieri pounced on a poor kick by the young Italian to stride through and score Wednesday’s winner with just five minutes left.

It was a cool finish by Forestieri, who was the Owls’ top scorer last season as they reached the Championship play-off final before losing to Hull at Wembley.

But if the Italian hitman has taken up where he left off last season, Di Matteo is hoping that Villa are not about to do the same.

The new Villa boss has taken on the job of reviving a team who were an embarrassment as they were relegated from the Premier League.
