“That would be nice, that would be brilliant and to the World Cup. There are still things. But I want to have a positive first season with Everton.
“When I heard about the interest from Everton it was something that interested me. I thought about it and made my mind up.
“To be honest, I wasn’t really thinking about Everton but when I stopped and thought about it I thought it was a club going in the right direction with a great manager, maybe it’s the time for a new challenge and to jump on board.
“At this age now, I’d had great years at Swansea but I just felt I needed to change my scenery a little bit.
“Hopefully I can help them and they can help me; I don’t know how far we can go this season but I don’t see why we can’t have a positive campaign.”
