After their 2-0 victory over Everton in their last domestic fixture and with no fresh injury concerns in the wake of the international break, confidence has risen in the Gunners camp.
And it showed as Arsene Wenger’s side avenged their opponents who only recently had knocked them out of the FA Cup.
“We had a strong flow, technically very good quality,” said the Frenchman. “We respected the game we wanted to play, our style of play, and we were efficient today.
“It was a bit similar to the first game in the cup, but today we scored early and that makes a huge difference.”
The Gunners, sitting third, had drifted in the title race after a run of poor results following their 2-1 victory over leaders Leicester in February, but Wenger hasn’t given up hope.
“We have to respect the way we want to play football and then focus on the process – not to dream too much and keep the quality high.
“Our game is based on movement and technical ability, and if we respect that, we can win the next game – that’s all we can do.”
