“He has no chance for the Euros”

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: “He will be out for six to eight weeks I think, he has no chance for the Euros.

“It’s bad news. You want a guy of 22 years of age to go to the European Championship, it’s very sad.

“He’s an impact player who could have contributed to England’s success. England have a few problems up front, so I think it’s bad.

“It is not exactly the same injury. He slid on the pitch and extended his medial knee ligament.”
