Arsene Wenger defends Jack Wilshere: He’s better behaved than Ronaldo and Messi!

“What you want is for your players to behave well, of course. But first of all their job is to perform well on the football pitch.

“Let him recover, prepare, come back and if he does well for England at the European Championship he’ll be the hero.”

Wilshere’s last appearance was on June 14, 2015 when he scored twice in a 3-2 win for England in Slovenia.

But while Wenger says he has no issue with Wilshere he insists he takes a hard line with his players over booze.

“Jack is not a drinker, at all,” added Wenger.
