The 26-year-old signed for United in 2014 from Ajax and impressed alongside Chris Smalling in the heart of defence last season.
However, following the departure of Louis van Gaal and the appointment of Jose Mourinho, Blind’s future at Old Trafford has been cast into doubt.
The Daily Mirror claim new United boss Mourinho believes he is too small and does not have the required strength to play at centre-back.
This is said to have put Gunners boss Arsene Wenger on alert as he looks to bolster his defensive ranks ahead of next season, with Blind’s versatility being the main attraction for the Frenchman to bring him to the Emirates.
Blind will face a fight to hold onto his position at Old Trafford after the £30million signing of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal, so a move away from United could perhaps be beneficial as Mourinho may not be able to provide him with first-team assurances.
