Arsenal have been linked with Mauro Icardi and Islam Slimani after missing out on Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.
The Gunners had activated the £20million release clause in Vardy’s contract with the Premier League champions but the England international has decided to remain with the Foxes after agreeing fresh terms.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger remains keen to bring in a new striker this summer and has been linked with the likes of Everton star Romelu Lukaku and Marseille man Michy Batshuayi in recent days.
Portugal’s A Bola has now claimed Arsenal are considering a move for Sporting Lisbon forward Slimani, who has a £24million release clause in his deal, while Inter Milan’s £32million-rated frontman Icardi has also been suggested as a potential target.
