Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey suffered a suspected hamstring injury in Sunday’s 4-3 defeat at home to Liverpool.
The Gunners playmaker was forced off just after the hour mark as the North London outfit slumped to a defeat in the opening round of fixtures.
Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed the blow in his post-match interview but he remains unsure as to how long Ramsey will be absent for.
Wenger believes he rushed Ramsey back into action too soon after his Euro 2016 exploits earlier this summer, as the midfielder was a member of the Wales side that reached the last four in France.
“We pushed players like Ramsey and he got injured again,” said Wenger.
“It’s an impossible situation to get the players back from the Euros and have no time to prepare.”
Ramsey seems set to miss the trip to champions Leicester next weekend and he could be absent for the game against Watford the following weekend as a result of the injury, depending on its severity.
