Arsenal forward Joel Campbell has been linked with a move to Valencia amid concerns over his long-term future at the Emirates.
The 24-year-old forced his way into the Gunners’ first-team set-up last season, making 31 appearances for the north Londoners, but still found himself behind the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain when boss Arsene Wenger had a fully fit squad to choose from.
Campbell’s failure to nail down a place in Arsenal’s starting line-up has lead to constant speculation the Costa Rica international could move on in the future and the emergence of Alex Iwobi at the midway point of last season has only heightened rumours he could leave.
Reports in Spain have now indicated Valencia could be tempted to test the waters and make a bid for Campbell, who has experience of playing in Spain after previously spending time on loan with Real Betis and Villarreal.
Los Che would not be interested in a loan deal and would be looking at tying Campbell to a long-term contract should they table an acceptable bid for the forward, who has a contract until 2018 at the Emirates Stadium.
