Arsenal have been told to cough up £21million if they want to prise Shkodran Mustafi away from Valencia.
The Gunners are in desperate need of a centre-back after Per Mertesacker was ruled out for several months with a knee injury.
Manager Arsene Wenger has now promised to dip into the transfer market and the club have been linked with a number of targets.
But, according to Plaza Deportiva, Arsenal are in talks with Valencia as they try to thrash out a deal for Mustafi.
Wenger is a fan of the Germany international and the Spanish club are willing to agree a sale if their £21million asking price is met.
The ball is now in Arsenal’s court regarding a deal and they are expected to make a decision this week regarding a formal offer.
