Is Theo Walcott finally living up to his potential?
The Arsenal winger netted a first-half double to keep Arsene Wenger’s side top of Group A in the Champions League after two matches.
The 27-year-old has scored four goals in his last three games, taking his tally for the season to five.
After scoring in the win over Chelsea at the weekend, it took him just seven minutes to open the scoring against the Swiss side.
Uncharacteristically, Walcott scored a brilliant header before sliding home a trademark goal on 26 minutes.
Since his big-money move to north London from Southampton in 2006, Walcott has shown glimpes of promise for club and country but has never really lived up expectations with consistent performances.
Could Walcott now be showing his true potential? After struggling with injuries in previous years, a regular run of first-team games and an injection of confidence appears to be doing him a world of good.
