Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta to reveal next club before Euro 2016 – Manchester City-bound?

Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta is poised to reveal his future before the Euro 2016 – with a coaching role at Manchester City expected to be his next destination.

The Spanish midfielder rounded off his playing career with a goal against Aston Villa with the last kick of the season to secure his club’s finish above rivals Tottenham as Premier League runners-up.

But now he is expected to take on a coaching role as part of Pep Guardiola’s new regime at the Etihad Stadium, despite Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insisting he would one day return to north London.

The former Everton star used his programme column to discuss his options and said: “My next step is to decide what I want to do next.

“I have a few options open and I have a very clear idea of what I want to do, but I won’t get into that now.

“What I will say is that I’m excited about the future. I’ve been preparing myself for that. What’s clear is that I love the game and I cannot live without football and my family.”

Fellow midfielders Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini are also out of contract and leaving the club this summer with manager, Arsene Wenger now in urgent need of increasing and improving his squad before next season.
