Arsenal 3 Liverpool 4: Jurgen Klopp’s boys come out on top of seven-goal thriller

Arsenal came out of the blocks quickest on the day, pressing Liverpool high up the pitch and creating a few half-chances for themselves.

But the game was relatively quiet until the 28th minute when Alberto Moreno brought down Theo Walcott with a poor sliding challenge and left Michael Oliver no choice but to award a penalty.

It was the England winger who stepped up to take the spot kick, although his effort was saved well by Simon Mignolet to his right.

The Gunners’ disappointment was short-lived however when Walcott atoned for his miss almost immediately.
