Arsenal 1 – Norwich 0: Danny Welbeck rescues poor Gunners as Arsene Wenger protest flops

And as the Gunners continued to struggle at the start of the second half, the mood did change as supporters booed Arsene Wenger’s decision not to substitute Olivier Giroud and instead take off Alex Iwobi.

But the Frenchman had the last word when he knocked the ball down for Danny Welbeck to volley past John Ruddy.

With Arsenal now in the lead, Norwich committed more men forward but apart from a few dangerous crosses they were unable to really test the home defence.

The supporters once again voiced their frustration in the 78th minute but Arsenal held on for a vital victory in the race for the Champions League.
