Antonio Conte claims he can fix Chelsea with three signings

“Conte is a good manager. I have known him and competed against him. He has many strengths. I believe he can do well here”

Francesco Guidolin

He is currently taking English lessons paid for by Chelsea and is expected to sign an £18m, three-year contract with a brief to get them back into the Champions League.

But he wants a change of system, style and personnel which could make Chelsea unrecognisable next season.

Conte’s plans involve playing three at the back, with a combative midfield in front of them full of pace and energy.

So he wants Nainggolan and Vidal to beef up the engine room, and Bonucci to anchor his new-look defence.

Conte is also keen to bring Juan Cuadrado and Andreas Christensen back from their loan spells.

Cuadrado will return from his loan at Juventus, but bringing back Christensen will require more effort.

The 19-year-old centre-back is due to spend a second year on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach next season.
