Barcelona are monitoring Mesut Ozil’s situation at Arsenal with increasing interest.
The Germany star has openly called on manager Arsene Wenger to strengthen the Gunners squad this summer, while also praising the managerial skills of new Manchester City boss and former Nou Camp coach Pep Guardiola.
And while the midfielder is not desperate to quit London, the Barca hierarchy believe they could tempt him back to Spain where he once starred for Real Madrid.
Arsenal have a history of selling their best players to Barcelona in recent years having transferred over £120million worth of talent including Aleksander Hleb, Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit, Alex Song, Thomas Vermaelen, Thierry Henry and Cesc Fabregas to the Catalan giants.
Arsenal will now have to hope they can get back into the Champions League next season, while their midfield assist maestro wants to see the club active in the summer transfer window too.
