Andros Townsend will join Crystal Palace from Newcastle on a five-year deal after the Eagles triggered his £13m release clause.
The England international only joined the Magpies in January in a £12m move but he has been linked with a move away after new manager Rafa Benitez failed to save the club from relegation.
talkSPORT understands Townsend will have completed his medical by Thursday evening but there is no timeframe on when the deal will be formally announced yet.
Newcastle were keen for the deal to only be a one-year loan with the winger returning to St James Park should the Magpies win promotion back to the Premier League.
However, Palace wanted a permanent move and Townsend will return to London only six months after leaving Tottenham.
The deal is not connected with Dwight Gayle’s move in the opposite direction and the forward had a medical at St James’ Park on Wednesday.
