Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has admitting to feeling rusty in pre-season but reckons he will be ready to go against Everton.
The England midfielder has gone from playing for MK Dons just over a year ago to becoming an England regular and he has hardly had a break from the game in the past 12 months.
Alli missed the tour to Australia but was back in the side for the win over Inter Milan and although he admits to being off the pace in that game, he says he will be ready for the opener against Everton.
“I felt a bit rusty to be honest, but it was good to get the cobwebs off and get some minutes,” Alli said. “We’re ready and raring to go now for the first game against Everton.
“After the performance we are going to be raring for the first whistle to go. It’s important to get a win on the first day of the season. We’re all excited and I’m sure the mood will be good.”
