Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce claims the side are much improved to the one that was serving up ‘rubbish’ six months ago.
The Black Cats remain in a precarious position in the Premier League and once again need a big upturn in form for the final few weeks of the season if they are to escape the drop.
Allardyce believes the football they are delivering now is much better than what they were playing in the Autumn as he has been able to add to the squad in the January transfer window.
“The fans have been on-board all season, as far as I’m concerned,” said Allardyce.
“There was the odd occasion when we were playing rubbish, which we were doing, in all fairness.
“They gave us some stick in those games and rightly so.”
