West Brom target Hovhannes Hambardzumyan is expected to leave Vardar Skopje this summer with Belgian and Russian clubs also interested.
The 25-year-old Armenia international right-back was linked with a shock move to The Hawthorns earlier this week with Everton and Leicester City also said to be interested.
Albion technical director Nicky Hammond recently suggested that the club needed to broaden their search for new talent and there have been suggestions that the Baggies were exploring eastern European markets for summer bargains.
However, it remains baffling as to how any of the player’s reported Premier League suitors think they can get a UK work permit – even after a recent change to the rules.
Hambardzumyan has just won his second domestic title with Macedonian champions Vardar and has now been linked with Spartak Moscow.
Belgian giants Anderlecht and Club Brugge have also previously checked him out and a move to the Jupiler League might be more likely.
