West Brom’s hopes of signing Jeffrey Schlupp appear to be over after Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri blocked a potential exit.
The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Hawthorns in recent weeks and was left out of the squad for Leicester’s opening day defeat to Hull City amid speculation he was on verge of signing for the Baggies.
West Brom are thought to have lodged a fourth bid worth £12million for the wideman, which the Foxes were giving serious consideration to, before Ranieri decided he wants to retain Schlupp’s services.
According to reports the Italian coach has spoken to Schlupp to inform him of his decision, much to the disappoint of both the player and West Brom.
The academy graduate was keen on a move to Albion having been told he would get regular first-team action and now looks set for another season as a bit part player at the King Power Stadium, having made just 14 league appearances last term.
