West Brom and Stoke have reportedly started talks about a summer deal which will see Saido Berhaino move to the Bet365 Stadium.
The 22-year-old England Under-21 international striker has again been heavily linked with a move away from The Hawthorns this summer having been denied a switch to Tottenham last September when three bids of up to £23million were rebuffed.
Newcastle, who were relegated in May, tried and failed to sign Berahino in January, while Stoke are now believed to be in the driving seat to try and lure him away this time as Tottenham look at alternative options.
Potters boss Mark Hughes has made no secret of his desire to bolster his options in attack as Mame Biram Diouf struggled with injuries and Joselu found it difficult to find his feet in England last term.
Berahino struggled for first-team action last season as boss Tony Pulis felt his failed bid to join Spurs affected his form and he subsequently only scored four Premier League goals.
That could see his valuation drop this summer as he is also about to enter the final year of his contract, but Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace is thought to be looking for around £15million before agreeing to a sale.
