West Bromwich Albion are not looking to hijack Charlie Mulgrew’s ongoing contract renewal talks with Celtic, claim the Birmingham Mail.
Some reports had suggested the Baggies were considering a move for the the out-of-contract Scotland international.
Mulgrew missed Brendan Rodgers’ first training session as Celtic boss earlier this week because he is no longer contracted to the club, but his representatives are locked in talks with Celtic officials.
The Birmingham Mail claim the former Wolves defender is a left-back that Albion admire – but they will not attempt to muscle in on those discussions.
Injuries have dogged the 30-year-old over the last two years but he fought back to become one of Celtic’s best performers in the final months of last season.
