Gent director Michel Louwagie says the club could be forced to sell players this summer, including West Brom target Laurent Depoitre.
Last week, Albion assistant boss Dave Kemp confirmed the club are taking a good look at the Belgium international amid reports they have invited the striker’s agent to a match at the Hawthorns in an attempt to woo him.
Sunderland and Tottenham have also been mentioned in connection with the 27-year-old, who has managed 13 goals in all competition for Gent this season, but it would appear West Brom are well ahead in the race for his signature.
Gent’s Louwagie has now conceded the club expect to lose a couple of key first-team players come the end of the season with reports in the Netherlands suggesting Depoitre is amongst those likely to be sold.
“No fire sale will take place in Ghent next summer. Maybe one or two players will leave, but three, we find too much,’ he told Het Laatste Nieuws.
