Arsenal are reported to be keen on Bayern Munich’s David Alaba but will have to pay big money and fight off interest from Real Madrid.
The Bavarians have set Alaba’s price tag at 80m euros as they want to hold on to the Austria international defender, but both the Gunners and Real are ready to test their resolve.
Spanish publication AS suggests that the La Liga giants have already tabled an offer of 50m euros that has yet to receive a response from the German giants but is expected to be rejected.
New Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that he sees Alaba as part of his long-term plans at the Allianz Arena, despite the fact that clubs such as Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester City have also been linked.
Reports claim that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to do a deal for Alaba but it remains to be seen if he will be willing to match Bayern’s valuation.
