Daniel Sturridge’s agent reportedly approached Arsenal about signing the striker on deadline day, only to be shot down by Liverpool.
Speculation emerged around midday on Wednesday suggesting one of the England international’s camp had been in contact with the Gunners, proposing they sign him on loan for the remainder of the season.
The proposal came about due to Sturridge’s growing frustration at his lack of game time at Anfield, with the 27-year-old having been left on the bench until the final two minutes of last week’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham.
Sturridge supposedly grew up an Arsenal fan and would have loved the chance to make the move to the Emirates Stadium, according to Goal.com.
However, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was quick to shut down any idea that Sturidge had about leaving, while it is unclear whether Arsenal were ever seriously interested in the suggestion.
