Chelsea could have to pay as much as £50million to have any chance of re-signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
The Belgium striker, who is chasing the Golden Boot as the Premier League’s top scorer this season, has suggested he wants to move on in search of Champions League football and could leave this summer.
Despite the fact Chelsea will not be able to offer it next season, they are said to be in the hunt for their former striker, who is also wanted by Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
However, Everton are not interested in selling their record buy and have indicated he will not be allowed to leave unless someone stumps up £50million for his services.
Chelsea know just how stubborn Everton can be after they refused to sell John Stones last summer, and it looks as though they will dig their heels in once again regards Lukaku.
