Manchester United are reported to be showing an interest in Villarreal defender Eric Bailly ahead of a potential £30million swoop.
Reds boss Jose Mourinho has put a new central defender high on his wanted list and reports claim Bailly is a target after impressing for the La Liga side last season.
The Ivory Coast international played a key role as Villarreal qualified for the Champions League and his form has caught the eye of Mourinho, who is now lining up a swoop.
Everton defender John Stones, who Mourinho tried to sign for Chelsea last summer, remains a target, but reports claim the Portuguese is looking at other options and Bailly is one of them.
Central defence was a problem area for United last season, with Daley Blind often having to play out of position, and Mourinho is willing to splash out the £30million required to get Bailly on board.
