Arsenal have been alerted by the news Julian Draxler has told Wolfsburg he wants to leave but the £50m fee could scare them off.
Draxler only joined the German club from Bundesliga rivals Schalke last summer but, after a decent debut season, he is already eyeing a move away to a bigger team.
The 22-year-old looked impressive at Euro 2016 for Germany, scoring in the 3-0 victory over Slovakia at the last-16 stage, and there are many potential suitors said to be showing an interest.
Arsenal are rumoured to be in the running although the hefty price-tag, believed to be around the £50million, may put Gunners manager Arsene Wenger off.
It certainly appears Draxler is pushing for an exit in the current transfer window but it remains to be seen whether or not the Gunners or any club for that matter will stump up the required cash.
Wenger has cash to spend but reports claim he is not willing to go that high and Draxler may have to stay where he is unless Wolfsburg lower their valuation.
