Liverpool are stepping up their interest in Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, with reports claiming they are ready to offer £25million.
Walcott struggled for regular action at the Emirates Stadium last season and with Arsene Wenger planning a summer of spending, it has been suggested the 27-year-old will be allowed to leave at the right price.
Liverpool have long been linked with a swoop for the player, who is keen to move on in search of regular first-team football and a role as an out-and-out striker.
The Reds could offer him both next season and Walcott could soon be making the switch to Anfield if the two clubs can agree on a fee, thought to be in the region of £25million.
West Ham United also remain in the hunt to do a deal as they prepare to move into their new stadium, but it is thought Walcott would prefer to head north and join Liverpool.
Walcott is also keen to win his place back in the England squad and feels he has to leave Arsenal to have any chance of doing that.
